Do's and Don'ts of Working in a Bug Tracker

What are some things you shouldn't do?

1. Don't send private mail to reporters, assignees, qa contacts, or anyone else without a good reason.
   1. Trying to avoid embarassment isn't a good reason.
   2. Keeping confidential material out of the bug tracker is a good reason.
2. Try not to ask the same question multiple times. People do not like it when someone sends them a form letter.

What are some things you should do?

1. In general you should post your questions in bugzilla so that others can see them (and possibly answer them).
2. If you need to contact someone directly, it's better to write a single letter asking for help and listing all the areas.
